Dove Pro Age Ad

February 19, 2020 by Jeff Rubin

In a world overwhelmingly skewing older, why is it that many advertisers still ignore consumers over 50?  In fact, less than 5 percent of advertising dollars target adults age 35 to 64, reinforcing the perception that aging consumers lack value. Older people are written off by many advertisers, as if they are less important or don’t buy anything. It’s unfortunate, that older people themselves buy into it. There are a few advertisers however, that appreciate the value of older consumers and having been embracing that message for quite some time.

This is just one of a series of brief but insightful selected videos I am posting that dispel basic myths, spotlight simple pleasures, and demonstrate what is possible when we change our views on aging.

As you view each video, consider for yourself, how much society stands to gains when we switch our thinking from measuring people in terms of “years of value,” to “value in their years!”

Age discrimination impacts us all. Join me in making a difference now!
